Our First Day Home

It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours at the Sandel home.  Baby Jack got home for the very first time at around 5:30 yesterday afternoon.  We took him on a tour of his room and then we got right to business…he watched his very first Illini game

After that it was a night full of feedings and short naps but we were able to get some decent length rest periods in between 4-10AM.  Today has been lots of unpacking, laundry (my favorite shirt got some major poo stains at the hospital…all Jack’s I promise) and getting the hang of life at home with a little boy.

My parents came by this evening with my sister Andrea so she could meet him for the first time.  It was fun seeing them interact with him, even though he was pretty tired during their visit.  Now we’ve got Jack resting and Melissa and I are having our first little bit of down time together.  We sorted through some of the many pictures we’ve got from the first 72 hours of Jack’s life.  If the 370+ I’ve gone through so far (from his first 2 days only) I’ve only been able to pair the “best of” folder down to 125 pictures.  He’s just too cute.

I’m sure I’ll have plenty more pictures of the little guy up eventually, this was one of my favorites.  It isn’t the best face shot we’ve got of him but the background really makes me think of our home.

Welcome home Jack.
