One Day At A Time

These are some strange days.  There is still plenty going on at work but I’m in a kind of weird limbo right now.  Baby Sandel is due in ten days but it is looking like he could come anytime.   At the same time, I’m trying to keep moving forward every day at work and trying to maximize the time I’ve got before he gets here.  Today I scheduled some meetings this afternoon, met with our student leadership team at my house after school and then went immediately from there to a meeting that I setup last night (and managed to squeeze in today) to begin planning for a big outreach in April.  I’m not complaining.  I’ve managed to get a lot done.  It is just a weird feeling because EVERYTHING is tentative.  I spent the time I had today when I wasn’t in meetings trying to make sure everything is as ready as possible for our big Dodgeball Tournament tomorrow night just in case we’re at the hospital or something.

Melissa and I were talking this morning and I compared it to trying to get ready for vacation.  Imagine someone gave you a free trip to the Bahama’s but only if you could leave the next day.  You’d work it out right?  I sure would.  This feels kind of like that only instead of having one day I’ve got one week…or is it one hour?  Maybe 27 hours and 14 minute?  Who knows?

Strange days indeed but I’m sure this is only the beginning.

  1. I’ve been thinking about you guys, and can’t wait to hear about Baby Sandel’s arrival!!

  2. Don’t worry. The first baby will probably take awhile to actually make an appearance, so you’ll have time to wrap up loose ends. In our case, we had two whole days! Good luck! We’re praying for you!
