Really Thick Burger

Last week we drove by this funny restaurant in Hollywood.  Carl’s Jr. is just a different name for the Hardee’s restaurants that we have around here.  You know, the restaurants that feature “thick” burgers and embrace things like the monster burger (two 1/3 lb. charbroiled 100% Black Angus beef patties, 4 strips of bacon, 2 slices of American cheese and mayonnaise) and the low carb breakfast bowl (Folded eggs topped with a sausage patty and a slice of Swiss cheese, then piled with a loaded omelet with crumbled sausage, bacon, diced, ham and shredded cheddar, then finished with more shredded cheddar and sprinkled with bacon bits).  This was a walk up/drive through only version.  I’m thinking they might have come up with a better name through.

On a somewhat related note, I saw this crazy story the other day.  A guy actually ate this 15 pound burger (talk about putting a 2/3 lb. thick burger to shame!) in one sitting.  In additional to the 15 pounds of beef were over 5 pounds of condiments including bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, mild banana peppers and a cup each of ketchup, mustard, relish, and mayonnaise. (Link)
