Sgt. Jim MacPherson was recently interviewed about an odd story. Apparently a homeless man in Boulder, CO was hit by both a car and a train in the same day… and he lived to tell about it.
MacPherson said of the man, “I hope he goes and buys a lottery ticket because he’s the luckiest man on the face of the Earth.” If that is lucky I think I’d rather be unlucky. Upon hearing the story though, I think he may have just been dumb. On his way back from the hospital after his morning hit and run incident he tried to beat a train across a bridge. He didn’t make it and he was knocked off the bridge into a creek. Life lesson kids… never race a train.
The best quote though… “It’s an extreme oddity that someone is hit by a car and a train on the same night. I can’t imagine that this has ever happened before in Boulder.” In Boulder? Jim, I could be wrong but I’m thinking there aren’t a whole lot of dual train/car hit and run victims in the whole of Boulder County, Colorado state, the US or the world.
Wow, is that Robin Williams with stage makeup?
