Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Melissa and I joined a few other West Siders at a Springfield Sliders baseball game tonight.  We’d never been before and it was family fun night so you could get free tickets at County Market.  At the games they do all kinds of crazy stunts and things to engage the crowd.  They had people throwing newspapers at a door on the field, kids racing in hot dog, ketchup and mustard suits and ladies doing an air guitar contest.  At the beginning of the seventh inning, Darren, the MC at the game and also the teams general manager (which we found out later) came up to us and asked us to help out by singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame during the seventh inning stretch.  I know there were some pretty intimidated people in our group and a few joked about sneaking away and moving seats but I thought it was a neat opportunity.  How often to do you get to sing, however badly, at the ballgame?  I thought I’d try to catch it on video with our camera as we sang.  The camera work isn’t too great but it was still a neat experience.
