If you’ve ever spent the night with me (not that it is a big group) you probably know that I absolutely love fans. On my list of things that I love about life, fans are pretty high up there. On a hot day I love coming inside and laying down on the floor right in front of a fan. When I was younger I remember multiple occasions when I would sleep on the floor in my room all night just so I could sleep directly in front of my big box fan. I’ve even considered recording the noise of a fan so I can take it with me on trips.
If I love fans so much, why don’t I marry them you ask. Don’t think I haven’t thought about it (but fans don’t cook as well as Melissa).
I recently ran across this article about a South Korean superstition about sleeping with a fan on. Apparently there is a belief that if you sleep all night with the fan on in a closed room, everyone in the room will die. The superstition is so common that they have actually had to manufacture fans with timers built in.
I think I can officially remove South Korea from my list of places I could live one day. Life just wouldn’t be the same if I couldn’t sleep with a fan.
