Back on the Air!

I just got some great news! About a year ago the Big Ten kicked off what was supposed to be a great new channel that would allow us to get more coverage of our beloved Illini. Then football season began and we missed more games than ever because the geniuses at the Big Ten Network didn’t work out a deal with Comcast, the main cable company in Big Ten country. When basketball season rolled around I talked to a good number of people who actually switched from cable to satellite just so they could see the Illini because, for the first time in my memory, the majority of Illini games were not on the air unless you had a satellite. It was a sad, sad year and something just didn’t feel right.

Well the dark ages of Big Ten blackout are over. Comcast and the Big Ten Network have reached a deal. When football season begins we should be able to see all of the great Illini games (which is nice since they’re actually going to win some now).
