The Sound of Music

No, my musical loving friends, this post is not about the movie that I remain steadfast in my boycott of.  I recently stumbled upon some music related tests and I thought I’d give them a try.  Several good friends of mine are in musical professions so I’m sure I’ll be no where near them but I definitely could have done worse.

This first one I tried is to test your ability to recognize tone.  I did ok.  I managed a 77.8% which is labeled between normal (70%) and very good (80%).

The second one I tried was a little stranger.  It is a test of your Associative Visual Music Intelligence.  They give you three random pictures of shapes and you have to choose the one that best matches the music.  I actually did pretty well on it.  I managed an 85% which is between “exceptional” (80%) and “world class, extremely rare” (90%).

Finally, in one last nod to my musically inclined friends, here is a neat video I saw a little while back.  Someone turned musical notes into a roller coaster.
