Rejected Children’s Books

I dont’ listen to the radio all that much but when I do it is usually ESPN radio. The other day Colin Cowherd was talking about a list of rejected children’s books that he ran across online. It kind of reminds me of the game Things if you’ve ever played it.) It was pretty funny so I looked it up. A few highlights:

  • You Were An Accident
  • The Pop-Up Book of Human Anatomy
  • Strangers Have the Best Candy
  • The Kids’ Guide to Hitchhiking
  • Curious George and the High-Voltage Fence
  • You Are Different and That’s Bad
  • The Boy Who Died From Eating All His Vegetables (I wish I had that one when I was a kid)

While all of those are fake, there are a few fun ones that are real. The one that made Cowherd bring up the fake ones is a new book called My Beautiful Mommy (there was recently an ABC story about it). Apparently it was written by a plastic surgen to help consider understand why their parents walk into the hospital looking one way and walk out looking like a completely different person. I guess if you want to make something seem normal, just write a children’s book about. Still seems pretty weird to me though.

A few other real books that I find funny…
