Anyone out there using Twitter?  It is like a microblog, stream-of-life kind of thing.  I still not sure about it myself but I’ve been hearing a lot about it lately so I signed up for an account today.  I figured I’d try it out and see if anyone else uses it.  It seems to be an up and coming thing.  It only really works if you know others on it though so let me know if you’ve got an account.  (My username is pretty obvious: chrissandel.)

For those of you who don’t know what it is, it is a “free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (or “tweets”; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website, via short message service (e.g. texting from a cell phone), instant messaging, or a third-party application such as Twitterrific or Facebook.” (wikipedia)

Essentially it is like the thing on Facebook where you let everyone know what you’re doing right now.  (For a fun, and very creative 2 minute video explaining the basics click here.)  For example, I currently have Facebook friends who are:

  • a little mad and that he recieved a $75 ticket from a state trooper for having tented windows, how stupid is that!!
  • tired of high school.
  • learning how to be broken and vulnerable.

I’m never once updated my facebook profile with what I’m doing now but maybe this will be fun.  Or maybe no one else uses this and I’ll never look at the site again.
