Number #100

I’ve been doing this blogging experiment for 68 days now and I’m on post #100.  That seems like some kind of milestone.  I figured I’d post once or twice and then forget about it but obviously that hasn’t been the case.  I’m averaging 1.5 posts per day.  I think it is officially a hobby (occasionally an obsession) at this point.

As I’m writing this, I’m scanning back through my previous 99 posts and I’ve noticing a few things:

  • I like cool videos (I think the real animal planet and the Unaired 24 Pilot may have been my favorites, but that is a tough call)
  • I’ve only got two posts about books – that needs to increase
  • Kara is a great commentor (thanks for adding to the interaction…yeah web 2.0!)
  • I get to be a part of a really cool church doing some really cool stuff
  • I’ve found myself trying to think about things a little more so I can share my new thoughts here.  It is nice to have thoughts!

There have definitely been both pros and cons to doing this blog.  On one hand I love trying to think of fun or creative things to share.  I enjoy scouring the web in search of cool stuff and having a way to share it with others.  I have fun thinking about things during the day and making a point of remembering moments so I can share them here.  This really has helped me think through a few things and writing it out here has given me an excuse to process some life and ministry stuff.  On the other hand, sometimes I enjoy scouring the web a little too much.  At some point, I probably need to quit asking stumbleupon (a fun way to surf for interesting stuff) to show me a new site and pick up a book instead.

My goal for the next 100 posts is to sprinkle in a little more personal insight, hopefully more book reviews and possibly share some more of my heart for ministry.  Don’t worry though, I don’t think I could go too long without posting a random video of a freaky cover band with big hair or talking about the next weird holiday I hear about.  The thing I love about this is that it really can be as fun and weird and serious and spiritual as I want.

I hope the past 100 posts have been fun.  Here’s to 100 more!

  1. Your blog rocks…I’ve really enjoyed it so far. And it’s great that you update so frequently. Keep it up, friend.

  2. “I’ve found myself trying to think about things a little more so I can share my new thoughts here. It is nice to have thoughts!”

And you have such great ones! Thanks for sharing them!
