My Kind of Pets

We had a dog growing up named Bear.  I liked him.  He was a smart dog.  He never barked, except the two times our house got robbed.  I’m not sure how he knew the difference but I guess that is what made him smart.  He was also pretty tough.  He was an outside dog and we lived on a busy street.  He was hit by a car several times.  The worst was when he got hit by a speeding ambulance (I’m sure the driver felt horrible).  We thought he was a goner for sure but he hung around and just had a gimpy leg to remember it by.

That being said, those of you who know me well probably know that I’m not a big pet guy.  Melissa and I are firm on our commitment to no pets.  I just don’t want to spend my time and money on an animal.  My friend Josh however LOVES dogs.  I just don’t get it.  He isn’t currently able to get a dog but I think I found the next best thing.  This little guy will do tricks and everything.  Plus you don’t have to feed him or clean up his large piles of poo.

This is probably a little wrong and I was going to leave my post at that but I can’t help myself.  I recently saw this article and kind of laughed.  I know that makes me a horrible person but I couldn’t help it.   “The boy and girl, ages 5 and 7, watched as the scrub python devoured their silky terrier-Chihuahua crossbreed Monday at their home.”  Apparently, “by the time Douglas (the zoo keeper) arrived, all that could be seen of the dog was its hind legs and tail.”  Yikes!
