Maggiano’s

maggianos.jpg

Tonight we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Maggiano’s.  The first time I visited I ordered my usual, Chicken Marsala, and wasn’t particularly impressed.   It was good but it wasn’t quite as amazing as I’d heard.  But every time since we’ve ordered family style.  It is amazing!  You have to have at least four people but you get to choose from two appetizers, two salads, two pastas, two entrees and two deserts.  The best part is that you can have as much as you want!  You can have three servings of stuffed mushrooms if you want or double Chicken Parmesan.  If you ever do make it, my two absolute favorite things are the Rigatoni D pasta and the Nona’s Pound Cake for desert.  I’m not a big desert fan in general but for some reason I go crazy for what we affectionately call Toasted Nona’s.  It is pretty basic (pound cake, ice cream, chocolate sause and carmelized bananas) but we always have to order seconds, if not thirds.

It is a little expensive but it really is a whole night experience.  You have multiple courses and since you always have at least four people it makes for a great time with friends.  Oh, and the other best part…they box up all of your extra food and send it home with you!  I asked for more Rigatoni D just so we could take it home.  It makes you feel better about spending a little more money when you know that you get at least one more meal out of it.

and that dessert sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. amazingly bad for you, but amazing nonetheless…
