Superbowl XLII

What a great game.  I didn’t really have a rooting interest in either team so I was mainly just hoping for a good game, and we sure got that.  As usual, I found myself rooting for the Giants since they are the underdog and boy did they ever come through in the end.  Eli still seems like the awkward younger brother but it was really cool to watch him win and come into his own.  When it comes to the stuff that really counts (rings) he’s already matched his brother (a ring and an MVP).  Nice job Eli.

I was also impressed by the commercials this year.  I came in with pretty low expectations but I laughed out loud a number of times.  As Fox advertised several times, you can watch all of the ads online and as I went back through some of my favorites I realized just how many of them I enjoyed.  It really was tough to pick a favorite when you’ve got screaming woodland creatures, Shaq as a jockey, lizards dancing to thriller and Justin Timberlake getting repeatedly racked by a mailbox but in the end it came down to a talking baby with a puke scence.
